Quesada Bowls Club Report Sponsored By Spanish Life Properties

Hopefully by the time you read this report the weather will have cooled down somewhat! Our Friendly League with Greenlands Bowls Club has now come to an end, with Quesada once again coming out on top and retaining the trophy.

Our Wednesday evening social bowling has now come to a close, with all those who have braved the hot weather joining together for a meal at The Club.

Over the weeks some of our members have been playing in a singles challenge, ably organised by Terry Morgan.

September has seen the start of some more competitive bowling, the first event started on the 4th, with a singles challenge competition, a new event for the club. On the 6th an Aussie Pairs competition started, which runs on Tuesday over several weeks.

At the end of August the Club was pleased to host the Spanish National Squad for three days of trials and practice for their impending trip to the World Championships in New Zealand in November. Two of our club members, Lisa & Peter Bonsor, now working in Australia will be there representing Spain for the last time! Best wishes to Carol Broomfield, who has been asked to travel with the Squad as a reserve player. This is Carol’s first venture into international bowling competitions, having previously spent many years on the international hockey scene.

This month several of our players will be taking part in the Santa Pola Open Fours competition and we wish them every success in this prestigious event.

September sees the start of the two week Valencian Championships in which many of our members will be taking part. Again, we wish them every success, especially those who are defending their titles!

Finally, good wishes to our club members playing in the SABA finals this month as follows:
