Forthcoming Events

By Keith Nicol

The schools are back. The majority of tourists have gone home and one can find parking in the town centre should timing and luck be on your side. With the temperature cooling off and many local residents returning, there’s a little more to do and see.

Returning for the first time in more than a decade, Torrevieja is having an Associations, Clubs and Lifestyle Day on October 13th at the TCF, Torrevieja Christian Fellowship. More than fifty local clubs and associations have been invited to attend along with a number of companies offering different services to possibly help enhance your quality of life in Spain. Doors are open from 10am until 3pm. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking outside and across the road in the Dia Car Park. It’s a one stop opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the dozens of local clubs, associations and societies in Torrevieja and surrounding district, covering everything from sports, to song, to dance to just making new friends. Any club or association that wishes to know more about attending, which is free for them should call me, Keith on 609 063 614, for more information.

Worth at least a visit for one night is Cartagena. It is particularly interesting during the Romanos y Carthagineses Fiesta with fun, mock battles between hundreds of locals dressed up in the style of the Romans and the Carthaginians. It is held between the 16th and 25th September 2016. The acts for the fiesta take place in two main locations; one at the port and the other at the football ground.
