PHARMACY HERO AWARD
THIS IS AN INDUSTRY/PROFESSIONAL AWARD.
This will be NOMINATION ONLY and the winner will be decided by a panel This aim of this Award category is to recognise an individual working within the pharmacy industry/bodies who excels in: customer service or knowledge of their product base, or a commitment to their profession in terms of education, training or progress.
The winner of this category must stand out in ethics and integrity. WHO CAN ENTER?
• This category is open to all individuals who provide a product/service to community pharmacy in Northern Ireland.
• This could be a pharmaceutical representative, manager, or an individual working within one of the Department’s many bodies. Indeed, it is open to all apart from individuals in the employ of a retail pharmacy.
GENERAL AWARDS CRITERIA The award will be presented to an individual within an organisation that can demonstrate a dedicated commitment to delivering outstanding service to the pharmacy sector in Northern Ireland through;
• Enthusiasm and commitment to the enhancement of community pharmacy in Northern Ireland.
• Exceptional quality above and beyond what is expected. • An ability to overcome challenges in pursuit of goals.
• How performance has been measured and bench marked. How successful was the project?
JUDGES WILL BE LOOKING FOR:
• Exceptional applicants that show creativity and an inspiring work ethic. Whether it’s interacting with others, going that extra mile, running new initiatives or training and promotional campaigns, this person will be an integral part of their workplace.
• Evidence will be displayed for plans for further research and development. • Identification of the need and value of the service/product to the community. • Proven benefit to the community.
PHARMACY OF THE YEAR
ENTRY CAN BE BY NOMINATION OR BY SELF ENTRY. This Award strives to recognise pharmacies who have worked collaboratively on a project or in the general workings of the pharmacy and who can demonstrate a significant contribution to either patient care, business growth or the local community.
The Pharmacy Team may include, pharmacists, medicines counter assistants, dispensing assistants and technicians, superintendent pharmacists, pharmacy managers and pre-registration trainees.
The winning pharmacy will be able to demonstrate their ability to deliver clear benefits through working together effectively, and efficiently.
WHO CAN ENTER? • This category is open to all pharmacies, either independent or chain.
• Previous Community Pharmacy of the Year Award entrants, including winners, are also welcome to submit an entry.
• All entries will be judged by an independent panel of experts. GENERAL AWARDS CRITERIA

• The judges will be looking for those who encourage and support each other and those who have collectively demonstrated innovation and forward thinking.
• Entrants to this category must be able to show that they have used the principles of team working to achieve good practice and demonstrate how they have provided an improved service or performance as a result of multi- disciplinary team working.
• How the pharmacy has demonstrated their ability to deliver clear benefits to patients and/or staff members through working together efficiently and effectively.
• How they have worked together to achieve its objectives within the past twelve months.
• Projects that the pharmacy has successfully managed which demonstrate excellence in quality, innovation, productivity and prevention.
• A clear display of the principles underpinning their success.
