FORMER TREASURER, ST. HELEN’S HALL RONALD (RON) WEIR PETERSON Ronald (Ron) Weir Peterson was born March


2, 1927, to Janet and Carl Peterson. He slipped away quietly on February 14, 2016,


from complications after a heart attack. Ron graduated from Ainsworth Grade School and Lincoln High School. He attended the University of Oregon for his freshman year, and then enlisted in the US Army in February 1945. After his military stint, he returned to the University of Oregon and graduated with a degree in accounting. Ron became a CPA and worked for Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young). Ron married Patricia Pearson in 1952. They started Peterson Properties and, later, Security Investment. Ron was president of the Rotary Club of Portland and


also district governor of Rotary International. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and served as treasurer of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and St. Helen’s Hall. Ron supported many charities, including Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation where he was a founding member and honored as a lifetime trustee. He has a son, James Craig; a daughter, Nancy Diane; and two grandchildren.

Upper School Library Assistant 25 Years of OES Service


Bev Shue offered 25 years of skilled and dedicated service to OES. She was a beloved presence on our campus and in our community. Bev passed away on May 6, 2016, after facing some significant health challenges. On behalf of the family, Bev’s son, Jacob ’97, sends his deep appreciation to the OES community. In his words, “Mom’s people were all at OES.”


A celebration of Bev’s life took place at St. John’s Episcopal Parish on June 4. Please keep Bev and her family in your thoughts and prayers. She will be greatly missed.
