Anna Rischitelli ’13 2004

A group of OES alumni recently participated in the 2016 US Bank Pole Pedal Paddle in Bend, Oregon (pppbend.com). The Pole Pedal Paddle is an unconventional triathlon/adventure race that has six stages: alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, cycling, long-distance trail running, paddling, and a short- distance sprint. The race began with Sam LeFeber ’13 completing the alpine portion, a 200 ft. sprint uphill to reach your skis and then skiing downhill as fast as possible. Sam tagged Anna Rischitelli ’13, who completed an 8 km Nordic ski and then tagged Hannah Huston ’13 for the third stage—a 22-mile bike ride from Mt. Bachelor into Bend. Next, Noah Rischitelli ’14 ran a 5-mile, single track trail run along the Deschutes River and tagged Alex Chabert ’13 who completed a ½ mile, up-river paddle. Noah finished the race with an 800 m sprint to the finish line in downtown Bend. The alums completed the race in 2 hours and 47 minutes, placing fourth in our category and only three minutes behind the leader!

2013 ANNA RISCHITELLI This year has been especially exciting for me! Early in the year, I was accepted into a prestigious sports consulting firm that works directly with the PGA Tour, professional players, and corporate clients. The firm, centered on the golf industry, does everything from client sales to corporate sponsorships. I work directly with PGA Tour professionals and players, attend PGA Tour events, and travel for corporate meetings. I attended the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Florida, and I will travel to four more PGA Tour events this year.

Besides my full-time job, this year I completed my thesis on “Marketing Segmentation & Fan-base Study of the Waste Management Phoenix Open: Current Advertising Strategies and Cost Implications of Targeted Fan Groups” and I will defend in the fall before I graduate this December (a semester early). I won first place in the 2015 Sun Devils Sales Pitch Competition last December. I was also able to travel to Ecuador to stand on the equator and see Volcan Tungurahua actively erupting. I am honored to have

such wonderful opportunities both academically and professionally, and I thank OES for setting me up for success!

2014 BRIAN EISNER

I am currently beginning my junior year at Macalester College. I am a physics major with an astronomy emphasis, as well as a geology minor (possibly upgrading to a double major later, and possibly a math minor as well). I am going to be a published author in the scientific literature for a project in my observational astronomy class last semester. I am also a varsity track athlete, a writer for Macalester’s newspaper, and an orientation leader at Macalester. In track, I have had significant improvement in both of my seasons here, with a PR of ~51 seconds for a 400 meter relay split. This summer, I am doing research at Macalester with Professor John Cannon, looking at dynamics of HI gas in galaxies using HI 21 cm line emission; we aim to publish these results as well. In short, I’d say I’m doing quite well in college so far, and plan to attend graduate school somewhere after graduation.
