Class Notes

1964 JULIE KRAUSE HARRIMAN

Lots of activity with the class of ’64 mini reunions this spring: Joan Lasselle and Julie Krause Harriman in San Diego, Nancy Reynolds and Joan in Hawaii. We’re planning for a class event in September in Calistoga, California. As we turn 70, we’ve had some relocations: Becky Weissert to Ephrata, Washington; Sandy Dobson to Selma, Alabama; Susan Ramsay back to Portland; and Robin Paisley to Bend, Oregon. Our class award for the most exotic traveler goes to Nancy Reynolds, who visited the Galapagos. I am still working in sports marketing.

1964 SUSAN RAMSEY I have recently moved back to Portland! After 52 years in Los Angeles I’m temporarily living in Beaverton. My wife Linda and I will buy a house locally as soon as our home in Burbank sells. We’ve already been to Palm Sunday and Easter services at Trinity, been to a gardening event, and heard some opera. I am very happy to be back.

1968 BARBARA L. (POND) SCOTT

My third book was just published. God’s Grace to Thrive with Chronic

Pain is available on Amazon.com and Kindle. I hope to turn my pain into someone else’s gain. If you suffer from chronic pain or know someone who does, you need this book.

1969 CHARLES REYNOLDS This year I spent a day on and off campus for Mt. Hood Climb Service Day (May 11). The OES community really pulls together; take part in this in the future if you have the opportunity. I visited/served at the nearby Muslim Educational Trust Islamic Academy, Pre-K through 12, which OES co-partners with on some educational projects with high school students from both schools. It was very rewarding. I’m still lawyering, my wife Chris is semi-retired but still working at Beaverton School District; my daughter Margaret ’00, is a doctor at the Palo Alto, California VA Hospital; and son, Mackenzie ’03, works in Portland as a warranty analyst at Daimler Trucks North America. All’s well. I wish my BDH, SHH, and OES friends happy trails. Hope to see you at future alumni events!

1980 MARGO LALICH It has been a decade or more since my last update. My heart

1981 CLASS REUNION Members of the Class of 1981 organized a spectacular range of events on June 3–5 to celebrate their 35th reunion including a social hour, campus tour and luncheon with former faculty, and an overnight trip to the Oregon Coast. The Class also planted a tree in the OES wetlands in memory of Chris Cutler '81.

home remains in Cannon Beach. Since 2013, my working home is Portland. It’s curious how our lives, decades later, reconnect in unexpected, yet memorable and delightful ways. My youngest son, Lujac, is an architect in NYC. My older son, Gabriel, was born into this world with challenges that never let me forget the fragility of life and those less fortunate. He passed away in 2012. I continue to travel and work beyond our borders, take advantage of opportunities to wander without time, and lose myself in nature whenever possible. Hiking, kayaking, and sharing meals with community bring me great joy. Life is busy, we are all busy, yet I welcome the opportunity to reconnect with what I call stranger- friends.

Charlie Enloe ’99 with daughter Sabrina, Katherine Voll Yorks ’99 with son Cameron, and Piper Iles Grifin ’99 with daughter Harper.

1999 PIPER (ILES) GRIFFIN Those of us from the Class of ’99 who live in the DC metro area recently got our families together at

a playground. We had fun catching up and letting our kids get to know each other. As pictured on the left, Charlie’s daughter, Sabrina, and Piper’s daughter, Harper, are both 2½ years old. Katherine’s son, Cameron, just turned 1 year old.

2003 RACHELLE A. PEERY SANCHEZ

Excited that my little one will be joining the OES community in 2016 for first grade! Feels a little odd being at OES as a parent, not as a student anymore! Very excited for him to embark on this new journey!

2008 PATRICK CHEN I will be graduating from Dartmouth Medical School this summer—I’m finally a doctor! After eight years at Dartmouth I’m really excited to say I will be coming back home to Portland. I will be doing my first year of residency at Legacy Emanuel/Good Samaritan starting
