DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN ATHENS Fly to Athens, staying at the four-star Divani Palace Acropolis for one night with breakfast.


DAY 2 - ACROPOLIS Our walking tour visits the Acropolis and the Parthenon, one of the ‘Wonders of the Ancient World’. Next, it’s the Acropolis Museum with its amazing glass floor, displaying ancient houses and roads below. We explore the picturesque old Plaka district with its bustling markets. We then drive to Delphi staying at the three-star Acropole or Fedriades, with dinner.


DAY 3 - DELPHI Delphi, in a setting of outstanding natural beauty, was believed to be the centre of the world. We walk up the Sacred Way to the temple of Apollo, where the famous Oracle relayed the god’s dispensations. The museum has some breathtaking exhibits including the ‘Charioteer’, a masterpiece of ancient


bronze sculpture. In the afternoon we arrive in Olympia and our hotel, the three-star superior Hotel Europa Olympia, with dinner.


DAY 4 - OLYMPIA The ancient Olympic Games were as significant an occasion then as they are today. We tour the site and visit the excellent museum. Driving across the mountainous Peloponnese, we arrive at the charming seaside town of Nafplion and our hotel for three nights, the four-star Amphitryon, with breakfast.


DAY 5 - MYCENAE & EPIDAURUS This morning we visit nearby Epidaurus, the greatest centre of medicine in the classical world. Next, we visit the citadel of Mycenae, entering through the 3,300-year old Lion Gate, before an afternoon at leisure back in Nafplion.

DAY 6 - NAFPLION FREE DAY A free day to explore the two huge castles which rise above the picturesque Old Town of Nafplion. Alternatively, you may take an optional trip (seasonal) to discover two of Greece’s most delightful small islands, Spetses and Hydra.


DAY 7 - ATHENS This morning we cross the engineering masterpiece that is the Corinth Canal and stay in Athens at the Divani Palace Acropolis for our last night. The afternoon is at leisure: why not visit the nearby Tomb of the Unknown Soldier guarded by the elite National Guard, ‘skirted’ in the instantly recognisable national costume. Or perhaps walk through the lush National Gardens seeing the all-marble stadium built for the first modern Olympics.


DAY 8 - RETURN FLIGHT Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
