DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN AACHEN You take an early afternoon Eurostar service from London St. Pancras International (exact time will be given on travel documents) arriving in Brussels approx 2 hrs later. A coach soon takes us over the German border to the picturesque Cathedral city of Aachen staying one night with dinner at the three-star centrally-located Ibis.
DAY 2 - AACHEN & THE RHINE GORGE In the morning we enjoy some time in Aachen during which you see the Cathedral, some of which dates from the 8th century. Then you enter the Rhine gorge, so beautifully depicted on countless travel posters, dominated by half-ruined castles crowning the hillsides. We continue our journey to the delightful town of Heppenheim and our hotel for two nights, the modern three-star Michel Hotel.
DAY 3 - HEIDELBERG This morning we have a tour of nearby Heidelberg. Few cities are as naturally beautiful, nestling by the picturesque river Neckar, in a valley dominated by
its imposing castle, high on a wooded hillside – a real-life fulfilment of the perfect medieval German landscape. It was always on the ‘The Grand Tour’ and visited, amongst many others, by the artist Turner who captured its splendours for eternity.
DAY 4 - BADAN-BADEN This morning you take the drive south visiting Baden- Baden, a famous spa resort since Roman times and frequented by Europe’s aristocracy during the 19th century. Then you enter the Black Forest, following the classic ‘High Road’, experiencing some of central Europe’s most stunning scenery. You visit the village of Sasbachwalden full of chalet-style houses, with their gentle sloping roofs and balconies crammed with flowers. Crossing into France, you stay three nights in picturesque Strasbourg at the three-star superior Hotel Mercure situated in the historic old city. You have dinner on the first evening only.

DAY 6 - COLMAR & THE ALSACE WINE ROUTE Just south of Strasbourg lies a picturesque wine route, of romantic medieval villages, cobbled streets and Renaissance chateaux: it does not get much better than this.
