Firstly to Mondsee, perched on the lakeshore then following scenic routes alongside lake shores brings us to the second lake of the day, the dramatic Traunsee, the fishing village of Traunkirchen then the spa town of Bad Ischl. We head for St Wolfgang which, must surely rank as one of the most gorgeous villages you will ever see. This afternoon you could perhaps take the steam-hauled rack railway to the Schafberg for a spellbinding view across the entire Lake District.
