Abbey College Birmingham has appointed Gary Wright as its new principal. Mr Wright has joined the St Paul’s


based college from prestigious Adcote School in Shrewsbury. He was headmaster at Adcote


from 2009 where, among his achievements was the development of an international marketing office for the school, located in Birmingham, as well as the establishment of offices in China and Nigeria. He also attracted a multi-million pound investment to the school from overseas. He said: “I have already been

Mondelez International


Cadbury-owner Mondelez International has appointed Mike Taylor as managing director of its UK business. In his new role, he will be


responsible for leading the company’s commercial operations in the UK. Mr Taylor has replaced Phil


Greenhalgh, who has left Mondelez to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Mondelez International has nine


locations across Great Britain, from South Devon to North Yorkshire, employing more than 4,000 people. Since 2010, the company has invested more than £200 million in manufacturing and research and design in the UK.


Mac Birmingham


A new chief executive and artistic director has been appointed at mac, the Midlands-based arts organisation. The new appointment is Deborah


Kermode, who is currently deputy director of Ikon Gallery. She will be only the seventh


person to head the organisation in its 54 year history, and will take over from Dorothy Wilson, who steps down after 26 years at the charity. Mac chairman, Jonnie Turpie,

The Belfry Hotel & Resort has announced the appointment of Phillip Akers as its new director of junior golf. Mr Akers designed and delivered


the Future Elite (FUEL) Golf Programme in Yorkshire, where he worked as golf programme director at Oulton Hall Golf Academy. He was previously head golf professional at Deer Park Hotel, Golf & Spa in Ireland. He has been coaching since 2010 and qualified as a PGA Class A Professional in 2011.

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Mark Taylor as regional managing partner for the central region. Originally from the Midlands, Mr


Taylor began his career in supply chain management with supermarket chain Sainsbury’s, and joined RSM in 2003 after a period at Ernst & Young. For the last five years, Mr Taylor


has been head of RSM’s consulting service for corporate markets based in London. In addition to overseeing RSM’s


seven offices in the central region including Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Bury St Edmunds, Chelmsford and Telford, Mark will also be office managing partner in Birmingham. RSM employs nearly 750 people


in the region, with an annual turnover of around £50 million. Mr Taylor said: “There are


exciting opportunities for our offices right across central England. Being able to help regional business owners achieve their ambitious business plans and strengthen their offering to the market is the key driver for me coming back to the region. “Having lived here for most of
