Tese are just some of the questions to which ODAPC can provide you official answers! DATIA is proud to work closely with the Office of Drug and


Alcohol Policy and Compliance (ODAPC), a section of the Department of Transportation (DOT)’s Office of the Secretary, to provide its members with key regulatory updates and news affecting your companies. ODAPC publishes regulations and provides official interpretations for the drug and alcohol testing industry, including how to conduct tests, and the evaluation and treatment procedures necessary for returning employees to duty aſter testing violations (e.g., positive drug and/or alcohol test results and refusals). Posted on ODAPC’s website, are documents and forms employers


can use for their businesses including the MIS form with instructions, a “documents on demand” form that allows you to select and request certain large documents from the DOT at no charge, brochures on best practices for random drug testing, and so much more. Covered?” tool that allows you to go through an online checklist to see if an employee or company is subject to DOT testing regulations. Try it out: htp://www.transportation.gov/odapc/am-i-covered. Looking for an answer to something that isn’t writen in the


regulations? Use the DOT’s Program Guidance webpage: htp:// www.transportation.gov/odapc/program-guidance. Here, you will find official information on best practices applicable to employers, employees, alcohol testing, drug testing, and Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP). Another great resource for information that is not available in the federal regulations are the Part 40 Q&As found

here: htp://www.transportation.gov/odapc/part40QandA. Here, you will find answers through official interpretations and guidance on issues that may not have been answered directly in the regulations. Of course, DATIA is always happy to answer any of your questions


regarding regulations, but you also have the option of contacting the DOT and U.S. Coast Guard drug and alcohol program managers who offer quick responses as well. Finally, ODAPC provides a free email service to which you can


subscribe. Once you provide your email address, you will receive emails directly from ODAPC whenever they send updates.
