appropriate systems in this area, this issue may limit their ability to accept new work. It is clear that drug testing labs, whether large or small, have an
opportunity to develop their businesses globally if they can provide the collection and testing suited to a variety of customers. However, there are significant differences in the requirements of customers across the globe and it is important that testing labs carry out adequate research and understand the needs of their customers prior to offering a global drug testing program. In order to advise and adequately serve customers, drug testing labs must be aware of different guidelines and standards for testing; the drugs trending in the given time period; the variety of sample types and that drug and alcohol policies will vary by country.

Lindsay Lennen has a mixed portfolio of experience having begun her career in forensic science in Scot- land and later moving to England where she dealt with the investigation of high profile violent crimes, attending crime scenes to provide body fluid inter- pretation and giving evidence in court. From there
she was appointed the head of casework and road traffic toxicol- ogy in LGC Forensics, restructuring both teams to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction. After 5 years with LGC Lindsay joined Alere in the United Kingdom and successfully established the Technical Information Group (TIG) as a key part of the Alere business. TIG is responsible for proving technical and drug trend information to customers and the wider business. Lindsay currently oversees the work of both TIG and the marketing team, which she took responsibility for last year. She also manages and participates in several business development projects.
