Air conditioning
Dometic make a range of air-con units which are powerful, quiet and can be installed on most motorhomes. All units operate on 230V but, using 12V or 24V conversion kits, they can be set up so that they cool things down while you’re driving.
If you don’t want to lose the light coming from a roof-light, Dometic have the very smart FreshJet range which fit into an existing space but still allow light to come in.
As well as roof-mounted air conditioning units, Dometic have a range of under-bench models which are installed discreetly and allow the cool air to be ducted to various points throughout the vehicle. If your vehicle lacks roof space or you’re concerned about overall height, a Dometic Freshwell unit could be just what you need.

If you don’t have space or if you simply don’t go anywhere that’s hot enough, but you still want to get fresh air into your vehicle without opening the windows, take a look at this roof vent from American manufacturer MaxxAir: the MaxxFan. It fits into a standard 40 x 40 roof light space, runs on 12V and can be used while the vehicle is stationary or in motion.
Using a remote control, the fan speed can be adjusted and the top of the unit opened and closed. If you should lose
the remote control, the MaxxFan can still be operated using a control panel built into the unit.
