Internet Access via Satellite & WiFi Crystop: the System the Professionals Use.

As the Internet becomes not just a source of information but an integral part of life for more and more people, being able to access the “Web” becomes ever more important. In towns and cities across Europe, access is possible through wi-fi connections and through 3G / 4G ‘phone networks. But there will always be areas where neither of these is available and so, if reliable Internet access is important no matter where you are, a 2-way satellite system may well be your best choice.

From a mechanical and electronic point of view, we reckon that Crystop’s models are probably the best of the low-cost, fully automatic Internet via satellite systems. Although designed for leisure use, they’re

robust enough to be used for professional applications too and these systems are in use by local government and utilities companies in various parts of the U.K. We’ve tried other models but they just don’t compare to this one.

*Internet only model D2177

Crystop systems can be set up for Internet access only or for both Internet and TV. It’s also possible to use the system with VOIP services such as Skype, enabling free or cheap ‘phone calls to anywhere in the world.

Once you’ve chosen the hardware, you’ll need to decide on a service package - just as you would at home. RoadPro works closely with Broadband Everywhere to offer a variety of Internet access packages. All packages are based on a 365 days per year contract and vary in cost from £160.00 - £660.00 per annum. Download speeds vary from 2Mb - 10Mb and unlimited data packages are available.

FAQs:

Q) Can I get online anywhere in Europe? A) With the exception of much of Scandinavia, yes.

Q) Can we use TV & the Internet at the same time? A) Yes, Crystop is the only system which enables this to be done.

Q) Can I watch TV via the Internet? A) You can, but streaming video uses a lot of data and, for frequent, regular viewing, it’s not practical.

Q) Can I connect to the system with a tablet or phone? A) Yes, using our optional 12V wireless router.

Q) Can I switch between service packages so that I pay the minimum when I’m not using my motorhome? A) Yes, this is a Broadband Everywhere option.

We all know how frustrating it is to try and get online using Wi-Fi when the signal keeps dropping because you’re just out of range. You make a start, lose the signal and then have to start all over again.

There are plenty of Wi-Fi connections available in most towns and cities across Europe and more and more campsites offer it too. But even then, you may find yourself in a dead-spot.

*WiFi Booster with aerial D0625

Our new Wi-Fi Booster has been developed by people who really do understand what they’re doing and who have been designing and producing systems for vehicles and boats for several years.

Although it won’t guarantee that you can get online everywhere, it’s your best chance! Straightforward to install, it comes with a fixed,

folding aerial (operate it through a roof-light) and a 12V control box. Inside are a signal booster and Wi-Fi router so that, wherever you are in your motorhome, caravan or boat, you’ll be able to do whatever you need to: on your tablet, phone or other device.
