An outstanding anniversary show

This May, Don Warrington (Death In Paradise) will be joined on stage by a fantastic cast including Miltos Yerolemou (Game Of Thrones) and Alfred Enoch (Harry Potterand How To Get Away With Murder) in a bold new adaptation of Shakespeare’s King Lear, directed by Michael Buffong, in a year marking 400 years since the Bard’s death. The outstanding cast also includes Fraser Ayres, Rakie Ayola, Rhys

Bevan, Norman Bowman, Thomas Coombes, Sam Glen, Wil Johnson, Debbie Korley, Pepter Lunkuse, Miles Mitchell, Mark Springer, Sarah Quist and Philip Whitchurch. In an ancient Britain bound by loyalty to the clan and the power of

the sword, King Lear decides to give up his crown. As he divides the kingdom between his daughters, family ties disintegrate, order disappears and the land slides into chaos. Shakespeare’s brutal portrait of one man’s unwinding sanity takes

us from the heart of power to the cold and barren world of the outsider. It pitches Lear against his children, against nature and against the universe itself. In Talawa’s 30th anniversary year, Michael Buffong and the company

return to The REP, following their groundbreaking productions of Moon On A Rainbow Shawland All My Sons.

King Lear will run at The REP from 19 to 28 May and you could be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to see the show live on stage on Tuesday 24 May, 7pm. All you have to do is answer the below question:

This year marks how many years since the Bard’s death?: a) 300; b) 400; c) 500
