FEATURE: EXHIBITIONS & CONFERENCES In the event industry, similar research has been

carried out and it has long been argued that dedicated venues are more beneficial when it comes to delegate productivity because they minimise distractions. For some events – for example, a board meeting where confidential topics are being discussed – this is certainly the case. However, for events that require input, interaction and a touch of creativity from delegates, multi-purpose venues could be the way forward. There is also the issue of keeping delegates engaged.

Particularly with events that last all day, delegates can switch off and create their own distractions – such as checking work emails – if there is nothing keeping their imagination and creativity flowing. Taking delegates out of a traditional business setting and placing them in a more out-of-the-ordinary venue setting could actually boost creativity and productivity.

What will you add to your event to make it memorable so that guests return next year? How will you bring your event to life in order to attract new delegates? Although traditional set-ups can offer an

aesthetically pleasing layout for certain types of events, a multi-purpose venue provides a stimulating background for any event. They are flexible and have the ability to cater for all types of events whether that’s meetings, award ceremonies, exhibitions or product launches. Bespoke spaces are much like a blank canvas, which allow organisers the scope to put their own stamp on an event.

Boosting productivity It’s a well-known fact that as human beings, we’re heavily influenced and inspired by our surroundings. In the workplace in particular, a great deal of research has been carried out to determine the impact our physical environment has on our productivity.

Content is key Technology has always played a key role in bringing an event to life and, over the years, it has heavily influenced all aspects of events including the planning, production, and importantly, content. Whether it’s through large screens, video units, floor

or wall projections, quirkier venues can offer content that will leave a significant and lasting impression. With pressure on organisers to deliver successful events, creating engaging content will give your event the ‘wow’ factor and create a much more memorable experience for attendees. More and more, organisers are looking for venues

that can make their event stand out. As well as offering flexibility in abundance, multi-purpose venues offer organisers originality, vibrancy, and the ability to impress delegates with engaging content.
