Earlier this year passengers rated Chiltern Railways as the joint top DFT franchised operator in the country for overall satisfaction and are also leading in the West Midlands for station satisfaction. In total, 91 per cent of

aguar Land Rover has stepped in to help Sir Richard Branson unveil Virgin Galactic’s new SpaceShipTwo at a ceremony at the company’s


to tow SpaceShipTwo – officially christened VSS Unity – in front of the world’s media, special guests and a group of Virgin Galactic’s future astronauts. Sir Richard was on board the Range Rover. During the event, SpaceShipTwo was officially


named by scientist Stephen Hawking in a specially recorded message. A fleet of Land Rover vehicles currently provides


support for the Virgin Galactic team at Mojave. Stephen Attenborough, commercial director at Virgin


Galactic said: “Since our partnership began in April 2014, Land Rover has become an integral part of the team’s day to day operating environment in Mojave.


Therefore it was fitting that the Range Rover Autobiography took a starring role in the events as our new SpaceShipTwo, Unity, made its global debut. We’re looking forward to more collaborations across the business including STEM programmes as well as engineering, design and product initiatives.” Mark Cameron, global brand experience director at

The rewards of travelling green


Centro's sustainable travel team has handed out awards to West Midlands organisations supporting greener travel. The Smart Network, Smarter


Choices (SNSC) programme has worked since 2012 to promote active travel habits and encourage people to cut down on car use. More than 100 people attended


the presentation ceremony - held at Maple House, Birmingham - sharing success stories and discussing the scheme’s progress to date. The awards recognise


organisations which have engaged with, and contributed to, the prgramme’s work. They were presented by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Raymond Hassall. Councillor Judith Rowley, who is

Choices programme has introduced a range of initiatives across the


West Midlands to encourage people to cut down on car use in favour of green travel options like public transport, cycling and walking. It aims to boost health, environmental awareness and economic growth in the region while cutting traffic congestion and carbon.
