Dennis Eagle to merge with Terberg
Dustcart maker Dennis Eagle Ltd – based in Warwick – has been bought for an undisclosed sum by a Dutch-based conglomerate. Terberg BV, a long established fourth generation family-owned
business based in IJsselstein, Holland, has acquired the businesses of Spanish- based RosRoca Environmental. The latter is Europe’s largest manufacturer of refuse collection
vehicles, and it is parent company to Dennis Eagle Ltd. The newly formed group will merge the existing Terberg
environmental companies with RosRoca and the combined business will be headquartered in Warwick. The merged company will have an annual turnover in excess of £300 million and will have 1,300 employees. The new company will have production plants in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Brazil and China. The existing UK businesses of the two groups will see Dennis Eagle
and Terberg Matec UK, which makes waste handling equipment, brought together. The Terberg Group is a family business which started as a village
forge in 1869 and now consists of 20 operating companies in the automotive industry, with a presence in nine countries. RosRoca's key business is producing equipment and designing and
developing technical systems and processes for the recycling and waste disposal industry. The company is present on five continents. Dennis Eagle was originally owned by Dennis Brothers, who made
buses, coaches, fire engines as well as bikes and lawn mowers. Dennis Brothers bought out Eagle Engineering of Warwick in 1907, and became part of Dennis Specialist Vehicles, before being bought by Ros Roca a decade ago. The bank syndicate which took part in the deal included Dutch banks ING and NIBC, Spanish Bank BBVA and Barclays.
