Let’s Do Business at Uttoxeter is a winner

Representatives from around 80 local companies flocked to Uttoxeter Racecourse to find out what support is available to help their businesses flourish. The Let’s Do Business Support roadshow

was organised by the Chambers of Commerce on behalf of the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub. The event ran from 10am until 2pm, with

expert business advisers on hand to answer questions and give advice about how to set up or expand a business. There were also 28 exhibitor stands, plus speakers and speed networking. The Chamber’s Growth Hub lead, Chris

initiative. During the anniversary event, at Hoar Cross Hall

Spa Hotel, some 60 ladies had the chance to learn new skills from professional trainer Sally McMahon and network with likeminded women over lunch. There was also the opportunity to win a

number of prizes raffled off for the initiative’s 2015 chosen charity, East Staffordshire Citizens Advice. Carol Sewell, from Burton Chamber, said: “We

were delighted to welcome the ladies to our second anniversary event on 10 March. The event partners firmly believe our group has become an established part of the regional business networking calendar and we will continue to offer business skills workshops and personal development seminars for the delegates. “Also our new steering committee will help us

gain further insight into what our delegates want to gain from the events and how we plan for the future. It can be very lonely setting up your own

were Annie Dunn (Tall Order Promo), who won bottle of Moet Champagne donated by Barclays, Sian-Elin Flint-Freel (Flint-Freel) whose prize was a luxury food hamper donated by Smith Partnership, and Cheryl Turner (Tao Business Services), who won a spa day for two donated by Hoar Cross Hall.

The next ‘Women in Business’ event will take place on 5 July. To find out more about ‘Women in Business’ call Pam Wallis at Burton Chamber, on 01283 535640.

Plant (pictured), said: “We have held a number of Growth Hub events across the county but this was the biggest yet. The aim was to provide all the help a business might need under one roof. “The key

message is that the Growth Hub is able to help any business of any size. It is the one stop shop to help your business grow.” Adele Cope, head of business growth at

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “It was brilliant to see so many exhibitors and attendees. The atmosphere was very vibrant and productive. I'm sure delegates went away with a lot of food for thought.” The Growth Hub was established by

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership to drive strong, sustainable business growth. It is delivered by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and is a focal point for businesses that wish to grow, linking them to specialist information, advice and services.

hold ceremonies and rites of passage to promote peace and harmony for people who are of any faith or none.

“My role in the Peace Camp will be to hold

ceremonies and spiritual counselling sessions for the Israeli, Palestinian and international participants, alongside other non-violent communication trainers and other qualified therapists and counsellors. “The aim of the Peace Camp is to create a

safe space for us to learn together and help each other with our fears, prejudices and that which holds us back from peace. I feel that the camp can help us all as individuals to lead more peaceful and harmonious lives.” Monica is holding a Fundraising Global Peace

Party at the Tower Brewery on 9 April to raise funds for a bursary to provide subsidised Peace Camp places for Palestinian and Israeli participants.
