Uttoxeter Racecourse to find out what support is available to help their businesses flourish. The Let’s Do Business


Support roadshow was organised by the Chambers of Commerce on behalf of the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub. The event ran from 10am until


2pm, with expert business advisers on-hand to answer questions and give advice about how to set up or expand a business. There were also 28 exhibitor stands, plus speakers and speed networking. The Chambers’ Growth Hub

Branston Golf Club is helping one of the UK’s golf stars of the future to further her career. Fourteen-year-old Morgan Thomas, a


talented young golfer from Burntwood, who is a member of the Midlands England under- 16 coaching squad, is honing her skills at Branston Golf & Country Club. Morgan has been playing the game


competitively for five years, initially with the Staffordshire County girls teams, and now with the county ladies’ teams, and is hoping to play golf for England. Steve Hadfield, Branston’s head golf


professional, said: “Morgan is a great asset, an inspiration and a joy to have playing here at Branston.”


Burton Hockey Club formed in 1899 reached a dream


landmarkby developing their own artificial pitch for the very first time as they opened the Ellis Astro in November 2015.


Burton are able to provide access to the sport of hockey to everyone from the age of 7 upwards and are keen to expand further with the facilities now available. The club are keen to attract new members at all levels and particularly those of school age whom want a well organised, forward-thinking friendly club.


Burton Hockey now provide a platform for local businesses with the opportunity to support a thriving club that plays the sport across the wider midlands and into national competition.
