Sharon Letters works as the clinical director for {{my} dentist} and looks after Scotland and the North-East of England. Sharon graduated from Glasgow in 1999 and gained an MSc in adult dental care in 2003. In 2013 she also gained her MJDF and is currently studying for an LLM in healthcare law and ethics.
In her role within {my}dentist she is passionate about providing the best care to patients and maintaining clinical standards throughout the region. She provides support to {my}dentist clinicians, identifies training needs and helps to facilitate and deliver training courses throughout the region as well as supporting and encouraging those who wish to develop their careers with special interests.
Sharon was instrumental in the creation of clinical meetings and peer review groups with the aim of building a wider {my}dentist community and encouraging the fostering of local and regional dental community links. Clinicians are given the opportunity to grow and share experiences and many attended the inaugural {my}dentist clinical conference in 2015 where clinicians from all over the UK met for a fantastic weekend with CPD and social events for all.
Sharon also tutors in the West of Scotland MJDF study group which prepares candidates who wish to sit their MJDF examinations. Te West of Scotland group is one of
the most successful in the UK. In her spare time, Sharon also runs a busy appointment book seeing patients in Glasgow using her skills in general and cosmetic dentistry, facial aesthetics and smile makeovers. She also likes to return home to Northern Ireland.
COLIN BURNS
BDS, MFDS RCS Eng GDC: 65349
Colin Burns qualified from Glasgow University in 1990. He initially worked as a house officer under Professor Crispian Scully at Bristol Dental Hospital before an extended residential SHO appointment in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Victoria Hospital, Blackpool.
His MFDS was awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He attained a masters degree with merit in implant dentistry from the University of Warwick.
Colin is a fellow of the ITI, the section coordinator for all the study clubs in the UK and Ireland is active in the teaching of the ITI Foundation Implant Course, as well as being an active implant mentor throughout Scotland.
Having previously worked in private practices in England, Colin is now based in Scotland and accepts referrals for implant dentistry and for CBCT scans at {my}dentist Crow Road.
KEVIN O’FARRELL
BDS, MJDF RCS Eng, MSc GDC: 152184
Kevin is committed to providing the highest quality dental care for his patients. His passion lies in cosmetic restorative dentistry using the latest techniques. He has also spent time training in facial rejuvenation techniques which, paired with the latest techniques of cosmetic dentistry, can change a patient’s look and help improve self-confidence and self esteem.
In 2013, Kevin passed the MJDF examination to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has been placing implants since 2012 including handling complex cases on a regular basis and in 2015, Kevin achieved a postgraduate masters degree with merit in aesthetic dental implantology from the University of Central Lancashire. Kevin is a member of both the ADI and the ITI.
Kevin works at {my}dentist in Prestwick and accepts referrals for all aspects of restorative and implant work including bone grafting and soft tissue surgery.
