Philip qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2000 with degrees in anatomy and dentistry. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.


Phil heads a large private general practice, Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry in Glasgow, which he has built up as a referral clinic over the last seven years. In addition, he is clinical director of Scottish Dental Care (SDC) Group Ltd.


He is heavily involved in teaching, mentoring and lecturing on many aspects of dental implantology for a number of implant and bio material manufacturers. An active involvement with the ADI over the last eight years has involved roles as study club host and secretary/ treasurer, culminating in the role of president for 2013-15.


Phil and his team run a number of courses throughout the year, including the implant year course and the sinus augmentation course, both of which involve theory, practical and hands-on cadaver elements. Tey also host the CBCT theory course, basic surgical course and an introduction to implants for the general dental practitioner, as well as more general CPD courses including endodontics, radiology, nurse and hygienist courses.

JONATHAN DOUGHERTY


BDS, MJDF RCS Eng, MFDS RCS Glas, MFDS RCS Edin GDC: 191136


Jonathan graduated from Glasgow University in 2010 and went on to complete his MJDF RCS (Eng) in 2011. He was awarded his MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2012 and MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013. He is currently finishing a diploma in restorative dentistry at the Royal Colleague of Surgeons


England with the aim of finishing his masters next year at the University of Leeds.


Jonathan was voted Young Dentist of the Year 2015 at the Scottish Dental Awards in May.


He works at Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry providing general restorative dentistry within the practice’s multi-disciplinary team.


JILLIAN CLARE


BDS Glas, MFDS, RCS Edin GDC: 75914


Jillian has worked at Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry for the past four years. She has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, having previously completed a year course in London, and has been placing and restoring


implants for more than eight years.


Jillian is currently undertaking the FGDP implant diploma at the Royal college of surgeons in London.
