Whats On: during the month
• Sunday 1st November, Art’n’Mart Community Market, Victoria Halls. 11am-4pm. Entry is free but we would ask people to make a donation to our local charity of the month as they enter the venue instead. This month it is CHAS - Children’s Hospice Association.
• Monday 2nd November, The Dunblane Cathedral Guild. Cathedral Halls at 7.30pm. Ann Hill will be giving a talk on Quilting. Ann is the quilter-in-residence at Dumfries and Galloway Hospital raising funds for Alzheimers, Scotland. Ann was involved in the fundraiser to collect the 5,000 quilts she needed to cover Hampden Park, Glasgow in 2013 to raise awareness for people suffering with Dementia in Scotland. • Wednesday 4th November, Dunblane and District Gardening Club. Cathedral Halls at 2.00pm. The speaker will be Mark Newman from the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh. His talk is on the ‘Edible Ginger Family’. Membership for the year is £7 and visitors are charged £1.50. A warm welcome to all

• Monday 9th November, 2pm and the 23rd, The Dunblane Cathedral Guild, Cathedral Halls. Drop-in-for-crafts ladies will meet so come and join in too, bring your own craft or knitting or help with the creations that are ongoing.
• Monday, 9 November Dunblane Civic Society meets at 7:30pm in the Braeport Centre. Professor Sir Geoffrey Palmer, Heriot-Watt University will talk on the “Scotland-Caribbean Historical Connections”. A warm welcome awaits you! Visitors’ admission is £2.

Friday 13th November Autumn Quiz at the Rural Hall, North Lea, Doune. NEW Quiz Master for 2015 – the masterly Mark Nixon! Tickets £5 per person. Teams of 4; bring a team or join in on the night. Tickets from the Information Centre, Main Street (tel: 841250) or on the door. Raffle & refreshments. Starts at 8pm.
Saturday 14th November at Cathedral Halls 10-12 The Dunblane Cathedral Guild Annual Coffee Morning and as ever, the baking stall will be full of goodies. Be there to enjoy them!
• Sunday 15th November, Forth Valley Friends of Scottish Opera: Ruth Wilkinson on the Art of the Répétiteur. She is with Scottish Opera where her job has included being the music director and pianist for small-scale productions and opera highlights tours as well as coaching the children’s chorus for the recent production of Carmen. All very welcome. 2.30 pm, Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling. Members £5, Visitors £6, Students £1, including tea/coffee and biscuits.
• Monday 16th November The Dunblane Cathedral Guild, Cathedral Halls 2pm Gail will be joining us to tell us all about the work that is done by Townbreak Befriending Service in Stirling.

Tuesday 17th November, Dunblane Local History Society, 7.30pm in the Cathedral Halls. A talk on Mary Slessor -’A wee wifie from Dundee’ to ‘Queen of Okoyong’ Come and hear about one of Scotland’s most famous missionaries who died 100 years ago in Nigeria aged 67. In addition to bringing Christianity, she protected local children including twins and promoted women’s rights. Visitors are very welcome. Admission £1.50 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.
• Wednesday 18th November, Stirling and District Embroiderer’s Guild will meet in the Smith Museum at 7.15pm to hear about lace. It’s not all about wedding dresses. Come and find out more.
