Primary 7 transition to DHS
Dunblane High gives a warm welcome to all, and hopes everyone enjoyed their well-deserved October break!
Recently, our School had some new arrivals, as on the 14th and 15th of September, Primary 7 pupils from
St.Mary’s, Dunblane and Newton Primary Schools visited the High School as part of the young pupil’s transition to high school programme.
Over the course of the two days, the soon to be S1’s, participated in a variety of activities and workshops. Pupils participated in outdoor learning workshops which included team building exercises, orienteering, problem solving tasks and a Learn Wild experience as well as classroom based activities which focused on music, health and internet safety.
Senior High School pupils, supported by Mrs Leishman and Miss Murney provided an exciting science lab experience that engaged the budding young scientists. They thoroughly enjoyed conducting various experiments that demonstrated how fun and interesting the world of science can be.
Mrs Starrs, the Depute head teacher at Dunblane primary school said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to begin the transition process in a fun and active way, all thanks to Dunblane High’s magnifi cent staff , the helpful senior pupils, the brilliant partner agencies and staff from the learning community primary schools for coordinating and managing the day.”
Positive feedback indicates the primary 7 pupils seemed to thoroughly enjoy their experience at the high school, and we at Dunblane High can’t wait to see them return as they begin their high school journey with us!
