Folklorama, which began in 1970 as


a one-time celebration of Manitoba’s centennial, has since grown into an an- nual two-week festival of global cul- tures. It is now the largest and longest- running multicultural festival of its kind in the world. You can join friends and family at over 40 volunteer-run pavilions throughout Winnipeg and experience world-class entertainment, delicious authentic food, and beautiful cultural displays showcasing the many unique cultures that call our city home. out to St. Pierre-Jolys for their incred- ible Frog Follies festival. Te first festi- val held in 1970, welcomed Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, to celebrate the town’s rich Francophone heritage. What a way to start a tradition! In case you’re won- dering, yes, frog-jumping is part of the fun. Te Winnipeg Airports Authority’s crew will be there too; don’t miss them. Want to enrich your artistic side?

With more than 100 festivals that re- flect the richness of our cultural heri- tage, the vibrancy of our arts commu- nity and the abundance of our natural resources you won’t have a problem finding a fun-filled event. Can’t do them all? Make a bucket list and visit a couple every year. No matter which festival you attend this summer you will find a great selection of food and music and a ton of Prairie fun.
