George Richardson, who developed an interest in Inuit art while travel- ling throughout the Canadian Arctic as Governor of the Hudson’s Bay Company. This legacy is continued by his wife Tannis, another longtime WAG supporter.


NGC@WAG: Ron Mueck June 6 to Sept. 6 U.K.-based Australian artist Ron Mueck is known for his startlingly realistic yet enigmatic sculptures that portray humans at key stages in the life cycle, from birth through middle age, to death. In works that are either monumental in scale or undersized, Mueck explores the human condition and psyche, often conveying feelings of loneliness, vulner- ability and alienation. Co-organized by the National Gallery of Canada and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Season returns with outdoor concerts: June 27, Kenora June 28, The Lyric Theatre in Assiniboine Park July 1, Canada Day at The Forks The WSO’s summer concerts feature diverse programs to appeal to many musical tastes and are the perfect way to see a WSO performance for the first time, or for those who attend every year.


Taste the WSO’s 2015-2016 season July 3 At this special summer concert, the WSO will perform pieces from their upcoming season, Disco Fever and Motown Dance Party. The WSO, accom- panied by the Jeans ‘n Classics band and singers, will interpret the music of the disco and motown era. The Jeans ‘n Classics group of performers have worked with over 100 orchestras in venues throughout North America, with their own special signature flair.
