Case Study 2


A teacher had had two observations, where questioning techniques were identified as an area for improvement and attended a CPD session to improve their practice. They then met with their colleague to plan how they could incorporate these techniques into their teaching session. In the following lesson observation, questioning techniques were judged as being outstanding due to the strategies which involved the whole of the class and the way students were asked to justify and clarify their original answers.


5. Contextualised CPD


Average attendance at the three CPD sessions was 13 members of staff, which included teachers and technicians and was above average for general CPD sessions. 68% of teachers had used approaches and ideas from the first two CPD sessions, within one week of the sessions taking place.
