4. TARGETED CPD


Case Study 1 A member of staff wanted to use more technology in the classroom.


A colleague


discussed using Socrative with them, they planned an activity together and then identified a session that the activity could be used in. The colleague would also be present to support and peer observe the process.


During the session there were some difficulties with the IT, but the support worked, students enjoyed using technology and the teacher had the confidence to design and use another activity on their own.


When the pair reflected on the TARGETED approach, the teacher felt that without the 1:1 support following the CPD in technology, they would probably not have had the confidence to try the activity and would have put off using their new skills.
