TARGETED

T Topic. Two colleagues meet and discuss the area that the teacher needs to focus on. This becomes the chosen topic and could be linked to identified improvement themes for the individual or for the institution, such as questioning techniques or promoting diversity.

A Assessment. The teacher will self-assess how they currently feel about their questioning techniques or other chosen topic. Their peer completes a supportive observation focused on the topic.

R Reflection. The resulting reflection allows the teacher to analyse what they need to adapt or change.

G Goals. The pair set goals

E Explore. The teacher uses experimentation or exploration within the classroom

T Triangulation. Views are taken from learners, teacher and another peer observation to record the outcome of the experiment.

E Evaluation. Using the three view points and reflection, did it work, what difference did it make? What impact did it have on learning?

D Decide and Define. What happens next? Continue with the experiment or change topic or set goals as a new process?
