llFounded in 1985 and playing in the British Ameri- can Football Association’s National League, the East
Kilbride Pirates’ adult team have won the Northern Con- ference six years in a row and were British champions in 2011.
The Pirates also have a highly successful youth team for players aged 14-16 who reached the national youth BritBowl finals in September. Celebrating their fif- th birthday this year, the squad was set up in 2010 and received lottery funding to pur- chase training equip- ment and kit.
