Ultimate Canada Update Letter from the Editor
Welcome to the first Ultimate Canada Magazine of 2015. This spring, we have the opportunity to recap all the Canadian Ultimate action from Winter and early Spring. Canada runs an annual awards program consisting of a national scholarship, individual awards and inductees to the Ultimate Canada Hall of Fame. Check out our awards section to see who brought home the 2014 honours.
Need a quick catch up on Ultimate Canada championship events? Hop over to page 22 for results from the second annual Canadian Eastern University Indoor Series, and previews for our High School championships and our newly minted Canadian 4-on-4 national championships.
Our regional update section takes you from coast- to-coast catching you up on all things Ultimate. With a story from each region, you can join the ride from a university rivalry out west, through junior development in the Prairies to grand masters Ultimate in Ontario and finish with more juniors work on “the Rock.”
Our national team programs have been busy. The World Championships of Beach Ultimate toook place in Dubai, UAE. Skip ahead to page 30 for a creative article from Laura Mason of TC Women and full results from all seven competing national beach teams. There has been no shortage of junior national action either. All U23 players attended Trouble in Vegas as a tune up/assessment tournament before being divided into their official rosters. Check out page 32 for a Vegas recap and the final rosters.
