n what is sure to be one of the biggest sporting events of the summer, Winnipeg will be wel- coming 10 nations from June 8-16 for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 (WWCC
2015). Announced at the Canada 2015 Official Draw, Win- nipeg will be home to Group D which includes the USA, Australia, Sweden and Nigeria. Winnipeg will also host matches featuring Germany, Japan, China PR, New Zealand, Tailand and Ecuador. Soccer fans from across Manitoba were ecstatic at the
results of the Official Draw as it meant that Winnipeg will be hosting some the top five nations in the world. Tis includes number one ranked Germany, number two ranked USA, and fourth ranked Japan. Legacy

working toward mutual goals for sport, society and our environment. WWCC 2015 has six legacy objectives that have been selected to be the focus of its efforts. Tese objectives reflect the priorities of key stakeholders, funders, as well as input from the sustainable sport event sector on best practices and new event management standards.
