The Hound of the Baskervilles April 8-26 It’s no mystery. PTE brings a comic take on Sherlock Holmes in the zany, madcap retelling of a classic. The Hound of the Baskervilles brings Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Watson, to Baskerville Hall to investi- gate a suspicious death. While there, they encounter an ancient curse, a desolate moor, a spectral hound and a deranged killer. This hilarious spoof comes to Prairie Theatre Exchange in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. pte.mb.ca

MANITOBA OPERA

Turandot April 18, 21 and 24 A Kiss to Die For – Puccini’s grandest opera is an epic love story filled with breathtaking pageantry. Set in Ancient Peking, Turandot recounts the legend of the beautiful but icy princess who announces that she will marry the man who can solve her three riddles, but gravely punish those who cannot. Heads roll until the arrival of a clever prince who is determined to win her over or die trying. Featuring the tenor favourite, “Nessun dorma,” the opera will be sung in Italian with projected English transla- tions at the Centennial Concert Hall. An operatic must-see! manitobaopera.mb.ca
