30 March Technical Workshop Te Maddermarket Teatre

25 March Liz Aggiss is Te English Channel Norwich Arts Centre

After 60 years, Liz Aggiss finally gives herself permission to do what she damn well pleases. Better late than never! She’s reached an age where doing the right thing is optional. Te English Channel is the story of her career forged in the heady waters of performance art and dance-film. It’s an edgy, funny and clever performance located somewhere within dance, comedy and philosophy, all tied up in a postmodern twist. She’s an undisciplined artist who refuses to bow to convention…plus she offers some knock out musical numbers. Tis event is ‘pay what you can’ but space is limited, so please book tickets.

Ever wanted to learn about what happens backstage at a theatre? How do you operate the lights? And what about those sound effects? Now’s your chance, as the Maddermarket Teatre is running a workshop to give an introduction into how the magic happens. You might even fancy becoming a backstage volunteer afterwards! Run by the theatre’s technical manager, the workshop starts at 7pm and lasts for three hours with a tea break in their super new bar. It’s free, but book online if you’re coming.

March Teatre Royal Norwich

Hey, it’s Brian Conley from off the telly! He’s starring in the spectacular story of the legendary American showman Barnum at the Teatre Royal this month; a musical which combines mindblowing sets and incredible dancing with breath- taking circus skills. If you’re into modern dance, go see Nomadic, created by choreographer extraordinaire Richard Alston in March; this show also includes the ultra-intense Burning and another Richard Alston classic Overdrive which features the pulsating rhythms of Californian composer Terry Riley. Modern dance is swapped for the sassy and stylish Tirties with the return of the hit musical Top Hat which mixes comedy and romance with lots of classic tunes like Let’s Face Te Music and Dance, and Puttin’ On Te Ritz. Don’t miss it during its run from March 31 to April 11.
