The Anaheim Community Services Department


recognizes the following organizations and individuals for their outstanding donations during the months of October, November and December 2014.


Donations over $1000


ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION donated $13,417. Activities and support included:


• Ponderosa Library - Day of the Dead Celebration, Magic Show, story time and craft supplies.


• Haskett Library - Sugar Skull Program for Teens and storage shelves.


• Central Library – Annual Mystery Author Luncheon, outdoor children's area and bookmobile program supplies and chairs.


• Sunkist Library - Story time supplies. • Euclid Library - Display cases and shelving. • Canyon Hills Library - Magazine subscriptions. • Heritage Services - A new microform read/ scanner/printer.


FRIENDS OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY donated $14,683 supporting activities and programs including:


• East Anaheim Library - Magic Show and comic book resale items.


• Central Library - Books for bookmobile, children's holiday program and teen books.


• Sunkist Library – Summer Reading Program prizes, book displays, video equipment.


• Heritage Services - Decorations for the Woelke- Stoffel & Mother Colony Houses Victorian Christmas.


• Haskett Library - Program incentives, books and story time supplies and games for teens


• Ponderosa Library – Flute making supplies and reading program incentives.


FRIENDS OF CANYON HILLS LIBRARY donated $467 supporting the Talk and Treats Program.


THE CITY OF ANAHEIM PUBLIC WORKS donated $7,000 to Oak Canyon Nature Center for youth programs, interpretive exhibits, trail maintenance and habitat restoration. In addition, $500 donation was made to the Anaheim Public Library to purchase books for kids in need.


SERVICE CHAMPIONS HEATING AND AIR made the winter season brighter for 150 case-managed families by providing holiday meals for a total in-kind donation valued at $5,250.


THE DISNEYLAND RESORT made a generous $3,792 donation to support the Anaheim Youth Initiative and supported the Libraries with in-kind donations.


ANAHEIM UNITED METHODIST CHURCH made in-kind donations totaling $2,847 which provided emergency assistance to needy families through food vouchers, rental assistance, gift cards, medical prescriptions, eyeglasses, and school uniforms.


Helping the many programs in the Community Services Department, JEFFREY HUNTER contributed $2,000 and MICHAEL RUBIN and the LAW FIRM OF RUTAN AND TUCKER each made a donation of $1,000.


MS. MARY HIRAHARA generously donated $1,000 to fund an exhibit profiling Frank Hirahara’s contributions to the aerospace industry at the Anaheim Heritage Center.


RICHARD MAYER made a $1,000 donation supporting Youth Programs and Oak Canyon Nature Center.
