Puppy Kindergarten
Start your new puppy out on the right paw!
Establish good manners and
valuable socialization skills at an early age for puppies 2-5 months. Class will include puppy care topics such as housebreaking, teething problems, health-care pointers, and will introduce basic obedience commands. Bring vaccination records and $10.00 materials fee (includes training manual) to first meeting, which is an orientation, to be held WITHOUT PUPPIES. Continue your canine’s education! Challenge your dog with new skills, including scent games (nosework), obedience-style jumps, targeting, intro to rally obedience and beginning retrieve. Practice distance recalls, and stay with handlers out of sight. Build reliability even with distractions. Bring your dog with training equipment, vaccination records, & $10 materials fee (includes training manual, clicker, tab, light-line). Please PRE-REGISTER! PP 6 Weeks 4/11 AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification
This 10-part certification test is open to both pure-bred and mixed-bred dogs who already obey basic obedience commands and who can remain calm when faced with distracting situations in public places. Those who pass all ten skills will receive paperwork to send in to The American Kennel Club, who will mail the official certificate. This course introduces a variety of challenging obstacles, including tunnels, teeter-totter, tire jump, A-frame, and wave poles. Trophies and certificates awarded at final meeting. Bring current vaccination records, a lawn chair, and a $30 fee for equipment maintenance, insurance and awards to first class. First class is held WITHOUT DOGS. No class 5/2 & 5/23. accomplish their training goals and get behavior problems under control within a limited period of time. Each week several new obedience skills will be introduced and preventative and corrective measures for a variety of bad habits will be discussed. Exercises will include: sit and down on command, stay in sit or down position with distractions, come command and walking on a leash without pulling. Dogs attend all meetings. Please pre-register. In this one-day workshop, your dog can start learning the fun sport of Toss-N-Fetch from an avid Disc-Dog competitor, David Procida. Includes instruction on proper Frisbee throwing techniques, getting your dog motivated to catch a disc AND bring it back to you, plus an introduction to some stunts, including spins and weaving through your legs.
