DANCE CLASSES - YOUTH Beginners Folklore

Children will learn the basic dance steps to a traditional Mexican folkloric song. They will also learn the history, tradition and culture of Mexican folklore. Children will need shoes with a small heel to make it easier for them to hear their heel taps, as well as a practice skirt which can be rented. Students will have the chance, at the end of the session, to present the dance(s) they learned to their family. Take the journey through the state of Mexico by simply enrolling your child in folklore. A practice skirt can be purchased for $10. Instructor: Fe Perez.

Pre-Ballet

Awaken your child to a creative and enriching introduction to ballet. Children will learn body awareness, spacial awareness, rhythm, and music appreciation. Children will perform what they have learned to their family and friends at the end of the session. Dancers should bring a leotard, ballet shoes, and have their hair up. Instructor: Fe Perez.

4 to 6 Years Ballet

Dancers will learn about discipline, etiquette and grace. They will learn how to properly act and dress for a ballet class, basic stretches that will help them increase flexibility, and proper technique and how to use their creativity to express themselves. Instructor: Fe Perez.

Hip-Hop

Move and groove to the beat of the trendiest music around! In this class your hip hop dancer will gain strength and coordination as they learn and rehearse with their hip hop crew. They will learn a variety of hip hop steps as they groove to a stylish song choreographed by the instructor. Students will have the chance, at the end of the session, to present the dance they learned to their family. Instructor: Fe Perez.

Anaheim Family YMCA Bitty Hip Hop

Does your little one love to dance? This course focuses on moving with the music and understanding how to count with the beat. Kids will participate in dance games that will enhance their social skills and self-confidence. Instructor: Anaheim Family YMCA Staff.
