After all the fun and colour of Carnival around the region, March also has some very special events such as Cabo Roig’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, local Semana Santa processions for Easter and even a Red Day, on Father’s Day.

Forthcoming Events


Ending the month of February, on Thursday 26th in Torrevieja’s Palacio de Musica there is a free concert given by the students of the Instituto Playa Flamenca in the Palacio de la Musica while later in the evening at 8.30pm, Verdi’s Opera ‘Un Baile de Mascaras’ takes place in the Teatro Municipal, with tickets priced at 25€ to 35€.


Staying in Torrevieja on Saturday 28th February at 7pm there is a concert by the Bella Torrevieja Choir in the Palacio de la Musica: tickets 3€. Later that evening, famous Spanish artist ‘El Barrio’, will perform in the Sports Centre, the Palacio de los Deportes Infanta Cristina at 10pm, with prices from 27€ to 150€.


Albatera’s 8th Tapas Route will take place in Albatera over two weekends, the 27th February-1st March and the 6th-8th March. This is one of the most popular activities in Albatera with the price just 2€ for a tapa and a drink and 4€ if you’d prefer a Gin and Tonic. There is a choice of 48 tasty and different tapas and five Gin and tonic variations for you to taste.


Cuevas del Rodeo in Rojales, the caves, have their monthly Craft market on the first weekend of the month. Everyone is invited to browse examples of art and design offered by the local artisans, participate in workshops, try some local food and find out more about the local craft scene. The event takes place on the first Sunday of every month from January to June from 11am to 2pm and during July and August from 7pm to 11pm.


As we move into the March, on the 8th at 7pm the Coro Sol y Sal have a free performance, then the Coro Nueva Generacion on March 13th for just 2€, with both performances at the Palacio de la Música.


Another of the areas most colourful events is the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cabo Roig. Activities will be starting around 3pm with music and entertainment provided by TKO Radio, followed by welcome speeches, a parade of classic and specialist cars and motorbikes and the parade proper.


19th March is Father’s Day and a Red Day with a special performance the evening before at 8.30pm by the Banda Juvenil Unión Musical Torrevejense at the Palacio de la Música with free entrance.


On 28th March the Book Fair starts in Torrevieja, along the Paseo de la Vistaalegre with thousands of books at special prices, and a British Bookshop with English titles there too.
