MISS D L JAMES PEMBROKE
MISS DOROTHY
LAVINDA JAMES passed away at Bush House Care Home in Pembroke on December 26. She was 89 years old and originally from Norgan’s Hill, Pembroke. She had worked at Croſt House Childrens Home, Flax Factory in Milford Haven, Riverside Hospital and finally at South Pembs Hospital before retirering in 1984. Her main interests where
her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening and holidays. She
also enjoyed
crossword, puzzles and her cats, Smokie and Sophie. Te family leſt to mourn and principal mourners are Michael and Annette James (son and daughter-in-law); Susan James and Peter Smith (daughter and partner); Florence Nash (who was more like a daughter than a friend); Robert and Claire, Lisa, Damien, Kimberley, Mark, Melanie (grand-children); Marcia James and Audrey James (sisters-in-law), plus numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren’s partners. On Wednesday January
7,
the service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was
officiated by Reverend Canon Roger Jones. Te bearers were Michael, Annette, Robert, Claire James, Florence Nash, Damien Sweet and Mark James. Donations for Bush House, Pembroke or Dementia (Pembs Wales) to Graham Tomas, 34 Charles Tomas Avenue, Pembroke Dock SA72 6UR. Te funeral arrangements were carried out by E C Tomas and Son of Pembroke Dock.

THE SUDDEN death
of Diane Tomas occurred on January 6. She was of Nantygof, Wallis and passed at the age of 61. Te youngest of three children, Diane was born to the late Lloyd and Ann Mathias, Pentregalar, Crymych. She was educated at Crymych Primary School and Ysgol Y Preseli, Crymych. She worked as an insurance clerk with Liverpool Victoria, Finch Square, Cardigan. In 1981 she married her
husband Alun Tomas, Y Garn, Wallis who was a lorry driver. Tey had two daughters; Bethan and Enfys. Diane and Alun
lived first at Penfro,
Puncheston, then at Chestnut Cottage, Ambleston and since
1984 at Nantygof, Wallis. Diane was employed for two years at Holland and Barrett at Riverside Quay, Haverfordwest, before moving on to work as a sales assistant at Peacocks store at Riverside Quay, Haverfordwest, where she was still employed at the time of her death. Diane’s interests included darts, caravanning and vintage tractor runs. Diane was a popular member of the ladies darts teams at Crymych Arms, Crymych, Te Cross Inn, Clarbeston Road and for the last seven seasons with the Globe Inn, Maenclochog. Diane is survived by her
husband Alun and her two daughters Bethan and Enfys. Woodstock Chapel was full to capacity for her funeral on Wednesday
January 14 with
family, friends, neighbours, fellow darts players and all her colleagues from Peacocks, Haverfordwest, with many mourners having to remain outside the chapel. Te

T E Owen officiated at the funeral service assisted by Reverend Emyr Wyn Tomas, Diane’s minister at Hebron, and Reverend Geraint Morse, family member, who paid the tribute. Te bearers were her nephews Barry, Marc, Cefin
and Wyn Mathias, Robert Griffiths and Darrel Evans, close family friend. Family leſt
to mourn and principal
mourners are Alun (husband;) Bethan and Doug, Enfys and Andrew (daughters and partners); Elfed and June, Jeff and Jen (brothers and sisters- in-law); Hywel and Wendy Mathias, Morwen and Vaughan James (uncles and aunts); John and Margaret Griffiths (brother-in-law and sister-in- law); Sharon and Arwyn, Rhian and Rob, Barry and Julie, Marc and Elen, Cefin and Sally, Wyn and Christina, Mair and Jon, Robert and Lisa (nephews and nieces).Interment followed at Woodstock Cemetery. Tere were family flowers only with donations in lieu of flowers for Crymych First Responders and Wales Air Ambulance being sent to Mr John Griffiths, Y Garn, Wallis, Haverfordwest, SA62 5RA. Te funeral arrangements were carried out by Paul Jenkins and Sons, Feidr Casten, Fishguard.
MISS I M ROBLIN JAMESTON
THE PEACFUL death of
Miss Iris Margaret Roblin occurred on January 2 at her home, Meadow Road, Jameston. She was the tenth and
youngest child of Mr and Mrs R Roblin of the Rising Sun, Manorbier. She attended a school for the blind at Bridgend before doing an apprenticeship of knitting. She returned home to the Rising Sun at the age of twenty and set up her business in a wooden hut in the family garden. She also demonstrated her skills at the Pembrokeshire County Show over many years. Iris was a supporter of the Guide Dogs for the Blind association and was the present

Chairperson for the Tenby and Pembrokeshire Branch. Iris spent many hours walking the lanes around Manorbier with the many trusted Guide Dogs,
the last being Maggie
who was a huge comfort and companion when her sister Evelyn died. Her great courage was displayed when she moved from the Rising Sun to her bungalow at Meadow Road where she settled. She remained there for
seventeen years
thanks to the help of her niece Eileen, carers and very loyal and devoted friends. Her sister- in-law and many nephews and nieces will greatly mourn her passing. Te funeral was held at Penuel Baptist Chapel where Iris had been a faithful member over many years. Te high esteem in which Iris was held was shown by the large number of people who attended the funeral, the chapel was filled to capacity. Te officiating minister who spoke highly of Iris was Reverend D Cardwell and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs John Roberts and Son, 51 Bush Street, Pembroke Dock.

MRS PHYLLIS MURIEL MANSELL passed away
at
Rickeston Nursing Home on January 8. She was 84 and of Precelly Place, Milford Haven. When she retired she was
working at Te Corner Shop, Nantucket Avenue, Milford Haven. Her main interests were her family and she also loved her garden. Te family leſt to mourn and principal mourners are Kenny and Ann (son and daughter-in-law); Teddy and Linda (son and daughter-in- law); Billy and Yvonne (son and partner); Joanne, Toni, Rachel, Lisa, Jamie Lee, Sophie
(granddaughters); Matthew (grandson, unable to attend); 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grand-children plus nieces and nephews; Lyn and Rosemary (close friends). Te funeral was held at Hamilton Court Funeral Home followed by interment at Tornton Cemetery and were officiated by Father Harri Williams. Te funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Son Ltd, of Milford Haven.

MR IAN HAY passed
away peacefully but suddenly at Withybush Hospital on December 17, aſter a short stay, with his family around him.
Born at Light-a-Pipe Farm
in 1934, he took over the farm from his father Frederick and farmed all his life. He married Marlene in 1953, and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on December 5 2014. Te funeral was officiated by Rev Geoffrey Howells on December 30, followed by interment at Hundleton Church. Te bearers were Joe Roberts, Simon Davies, Johnny Shutt and Mark Phillips (friends of the family). Te principal mourners are Marlene (wife); Phillip and Christine (son and daughter-in-law); Christine and David (daughter and son- in-law); David and Karol (son and daughter-in-law); Julie and Kenny (daughter and son-in- law); four grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Donations in lieu if desired for British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK can be sent to John Roberts and Son who carried out the funeral arrangements with such dignity.
