MATT SELFE

THIS MONTH’S ARTIST

WHAT’S THIS? Electronic pop. Big choruses, catchy melodies and full of harmonies. Echoey guitar and vocal sounds.

INFLUENCES Jonsi and Sigur Ros, M83, Youth Lagoon, Te 1975, Angels & Airwaves & Blink. Meat Loaf & his writer, Jim Steinman.

BIOGRAPHY Matt played in bands, including Kneehigh, through out school for about ten years. Ten he went ahead and started writing on his own, playing around on his laptop creating beats and working hard to learn how to record himself.

His current project started on GarageBand, moved on to Logic and from there he started to put recordings up online. Matt has become more confident in production, recording and songwriting through all his hard work and feels he’s at a place now where things are sounding exactly how he wants them to. Matt’s collaborated with White Skies and will be releasing a song soon with Dutch producer Poolz. He also spent a few months this year in the company of Tom Cox producing and recording his EP.
