July 12 & 13 Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Kent Life Heritage Farm Park, Maidstone If you go down to the woods today... we all know the song but have you ever been to a teddy bear’s picnic? Bring your teddy along and get a certificate for you and your bear, take part in storytelling and teddy bear races. You can also have a go in a wooden bear hunt, treat your teddy to a donkey ride and meet some of the other cuddly creatures in cuddle corner.


July 17 - 20 Wildlife Heritage open days, Smarden This is a wonderful opportunity to see over 50 big cats and - a great family day out with plenty of activities for children. Tickets must be pre- booked online at www.whf.org.uk, £10 per person, children under 5 free


July 18 History of Mote Park evening walk, Maidstone Records of Mote Park date back to the 1250s, with some archaeological remains dating back to the Romans. Why not join this guided walk and spend an evening exploring the hidden history of Mote Park? Please meet at the volunteers office by the cafe. Admission is £3 per person. July 19 Wild West Walk Aylesford Come dressed as cowboys and cowgirls for this Heart of Kent Hospice fundraising event, which starts in Aylesford at 6pm with Wild West-style entertainment.


July 19 - 20 Princess Academy Scotney Castle, Lamberhurst This summer the castle is hosting a princess academy. See storybook princesses come to life in an idyllic setting. Children of all ages will be taught how to behave like fairytale royalty as well as making tiaras, wands and listening to classic fairytales.


July 19 & 20 Flower festival St Mary’s, Orlestone, Shadoxhurst Friends of St Mary's are holding a flower festival from 10.30am to 5pm. This year's theme is Downton Abbey and the church will be full of displays depicting various aspects of the theme. The refreshments will be in the Victory Hall, Hamstreet, where the theme will continue.


July 19 - 20 Cherry festival Brogdale Farm, Faversham There will be about 80 varieties of cherries on display as well as the chance to try before you buy in the festival fruit shop. Tractor trailer and walking tours of the orchards will be running all weekend and miniature train rides offer an extra for your day. Browse the craft and produce village for some unique gifts and enjoy live music as you tantalise your taste buds with lunch from one of the local food producers.


 



