HOMECOMING MUSTER AND COMMONWEALTH FLOTILLA July www.ryascotland.org.uk A series of events to support the mass muster- ing of boats in Greenock in anticipation of the opening of the Commonwealth Games. The feeders include the Small Ships Race, a cruise in company through Argyll, an inland water cruise from the Helix and a series of informal events from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Key events include:


Homecoming Muster, 18-25 July The Homecoming Muster will deliver the major- ity of boats planning on making the journey up the Clyde to James Watt Dock. The Homecoming Muster includes a structured cruise in company that navigates Scotland’s stunning West Coast, starting in the Western Isles, travelling through Argyll and the Isles before arriving in Greenock. A number of informal feeder events will allow sailors travelling from England, Wales, North- ern Ireland and Ireland to join up with their fellow travellers in the journey to Scotland.


Commonwealth Flotilla, 26 July Boats will muster at James Watt Dock, Greenock, on Friday 25 July. The following day they will


make the journey from Greenock to Pacific Quay in Glasgow, next to BBC Scotland and the Glasgow Science Centre in pre-allocated groups. Spectator opportunities are planned on both the north and south banks of the Clyde.


Small Ships Race, 20-25 July Over 200 people on around 15 racing yachts (60-70ft in length) will race from Greenock down around Arran and up to Portavadie Marina where they will watch the Common- wealth Games opening ceremony on a big screen. From there they will head back to Greenock via the Kyles of Bute, finishing at James Watt Dock on Friday 25 July.


LUSS HIGHLAND GAMES 5 July Luss Games Field www.lusshighlandgames.co.uk The first Luss Highland Gathering was held in 1875 and has been held annually since, except for a break during the two world wars. It owns its inception to the enthusiasm of local farmers and sportsmen, and has over the years become a symbol of


local sporting endeavour and


community spirit. It has also become the focus of the annual gathering of the Clan Colquhoun, bringing with it an influx of visitors from distant
