NICK BRINGS FORTH SCOTLAND’S BEST FOOD AND DRINK Top Scottish celebrity chef Nick Nairn has brought his passion for Scottish produce to bear in designing a menu for ‘Scotland Welcomes the World to Lunch’, a highlight of September’s Forth Bridges Festival. Scotland Welcomes the World to Lunch is a unique outdoor event that will take place on 6 September. It is planned to

celebrate three centuries of bridge engineering on the Forth, as well as marking the 50th birthday of the iconic Forth Road Bridge, and is a key event in the Homecoming 2014 calendar. The lunch will be held in South Queensferry in front of the spectacular panorama of the three bridges – the Forth Bridge,

Forth Road Bridge and the new Queensferry Crossing, which is currently under construction. Visitors and residents alike will enjoy all the best of Scottish quality food and drink sourced from right across the country. Tickets are now on sale for up to 2,400 lunch guests to enjoy a feast of artisan sandwiches with Scottish salmon, Inverurie sirloin beef and roasted vegetables, accompanied by a fresh super salad and followed by a Scottish berry trifl e dessert. Commenting on his menu choice, Nick Nairn said: ‘The Forth bridges are iconic symbols of Scotland around the world and I’m thrilled to be involved in the festival. Scotland is going through a food and drink revolution at the moment and this is a brilliant chance to celebrate our fantastic natural larder against the amazing backdrop of the bridges.’ The event will include an exciting line-up of live entertainment with music, choirs, street entertainers, a food and drink

market, and demonstration kitchens manned by some of Scotland’s top chefs. Tickets for the event cost £13 for adults and £8 for children, plus a small booking fee, and are available to purchase
