Massage can relieve the fatigue, pain, anxi- ety, depression and nausea resulting from cancer treatments. This type of massage is not deep tissue as there are many body systems involved in most cancer care. It’s far better to receive lighter work to allow relaxation. Look for massage options near your treatment centers or in the center. Often there are free or nearly free massage opportunities available to patients, family or caregivers. There are Oncology Massage Therapists in nearly every state or large city. Seek therapists who have additional training related to Oncology Massage.
9. Caring and comfort:
Massage creates a sense of empowerment, and a deep connection to the body. Clients report having a better sense of their bodies while experiencing deep relaxation. Un- burdened by the stresses of life, we become better spouses, partners, and parents
10. Massage just feels good:
Last, but not certainly not least, it feels good! Massage is a tune up for your body. Next to sleep, it’s the best opportunity for your body to catch up, renew, and revitalize for the next round of exercise or stressful activity.
