At Volga-Dnepr, most of the flights we operate are for either unique, outsize or heavyweight shipments. In the case of a 73-ton runner that needed to be transported from a manufacturer in Austria to the site of a hydroelectric power plant in Bratsk in Russia, the cargo was unique, outsize AND heavy!


The delivery of the runner is the latest stage of a project


to modernise the Bratsk Hydropower Station. Under the contract between OJSC Irkutskenergo and Voith Hydro, a world leader in hydropower equipment manufacturer, the installation of another five runners is planned.


The decision to work with Volga-Dnepr was not only based on its 23-year track record of moving complex loads. The biggest benefit for the customer was


Volga-Dnepr’s ability to use its expertise to manage the entire shipment door-to-door.
