AIRBRIDGECARGO GROWS

MORE ROUTES, MORE FREQUENCIES, MORE OPPORTUNITIES

THREE NEW DESTINATIONS JOIN ABC’S FAST-GROWING GLOBAL NETWORK

Munich is the latest central European city to join AirBridgeCargo Airlines’ growing operating network.

The launch of this new route on May 9 linking Munich to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport is in addition to the existing four times weekly Boeing 737 freighter services operated by Volga- Dnepr Group’s Atran Cargo Airlines. The weekly Boeing 747 freighter flight every Friday will increase ABC’s ability to offer customers in Germany fast connections to and from the Russian market as well as to the airline’s international network via its Moscow hub.

The airline’s decision to introduce the new service is motivated by increased customer demand for cargo services from Germany to Russia and to Asia. In the first quarter of 2014, ABC increased its export traffic from Germany to Russia by 51%, way above market trends, and recorded similar strong demand on its routes from Germany to Asia.

AirBridgeCargo currently performs 29 flights a week to Asia, serving the major cities of Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Tokyo and Seoul, and offers its customers over 150 connections via its hub in Sheremetyevo.

Germany has been one of the most important markets contributing to ABC’s growth over the last decade. ABC began serving the German market in its first year of operation in 2004 with a single frequency to Frankfurt. Currently it operates 13 flights a week from Frankfurt.

“Our main strategy, as it has always been, is to be flexible in introducing new routes and destinations for our customers. We pay particular attention to market changes and are constantly searching for new markets and destinations. Munich will increase ABC’s presence in the European market and will provide customers with more effective connections via our hub in Sheremetyevo,” said Denis Ilin, Executive President of AirBridgeCargo Airlines.

MALMO,

SWEDEN ABC’s is also planning a new service to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in addition to the existing weekend Boeing 737 freighter flight operated by Atran Cargo Airlines, also part of Volga-Dnepr Group. ABC’s B747 all-cargo flight between the two cities will operate every Friday.

“The expansion of our services to and from Scandinavia will mean we can offer customers additional capacity and the ability to connect via Moscow to our network in North America and Asia,” said ABC’s Henk-Jan van Keulen, who is responsible for Business Development in Europe. He said the airline is also confident of generating strong inbound support on the route, particularly from China.
