DALLAS/ FORT WORTH & MORE CHICAGO
Russia’s largest cargo carrier, AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), has increased its presence in the U.S. market with the launch of Boeing 747-8 freighter flights linking Dallas/Fort Worth with Amsterdam and Moscow.
The new twice-weekly Boeing 747-8 all-cargo flights operate from Dallas/ Fort Worth on Mondays and Thursdays to Amsterdam Schiphol and Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airports. At the same time, ABC has increased it services to Chicago with the introduction of direct flights from Frankfurt.
Denis Ilin, Executive President of AirBridgeCargo Airlines, says: “Chicago has been a very successful route for us since we commenced services on the route in 2012 and the extra B747F flight a week from O’Hare International Airport will provide welcome additional capacity
for our customers. Expanding services in the U.S. market is a logical step in the airline’s development and means we can increase our ability to offer fast and efficient freight deliveries for customers doing business in North America, Europe, Asia and Russia.”
Since the launch of Chicago, AirBridgeCargo has seen strong demand on the route, especially from the oil & gas industry which has grown by 6%. ABC’s overall cargo tonnage to/from the North Americas has grown by 12% and 4% respectively.
“W
e are pleased to welcome the AirBridgeCargo freighter service to Dallas/ F
ort W orth,” said Luis E.
Perez, Vice President for Air Service Development at DFW International Airport. “This new service further demonstrates the strength of the Dallas/F
ort W orth
market and provides our region’
s suppliers with
additional lift to Europe and beyond.”
The introduction of Leipzig to AirBridgeCargo’s European network with a weekly B747 freighter service extends Volga-Dnepr Group’s strong association with the airport, where it has also invested in a modern aircraft maintenance and repair facility to serve a variety of aircraft types.
AirBridgeCargo’s Tuesday service will also help customers connect with its freighter network to major cities in the Far East. Denis Ilin, Executive President of AirBridgeCargo says the airline will continue to evaluate other new routes to increase its network into and out of the E.U., the largest economy in the world with over 500 million consumers.
“Adding Leipzig to our growing network underlines ABC’s commitment to the airport and recognises its potential as a major airfreight hub in Eastern Europe,” said Andrey Andreev, Head of Business Development in Germany and Eastern Europe.
