Has Ruslan International achieved its original objectives and how well is the partnership going between ADB and V

olga-Dnepr?

The partnership between ADB & Volga- Dnepr under the RI banner has been a success story since its inception in 2006. Our original objectives to market the combined fleet of 17 An-124 aircraft have increased thanks to visibility, reputation and demand. Consolidated marketing through this joint venture has enabled us to streamline operations, our product offering and commercial approach to the market. We can truly say that almost eight years down the line the results have exceeded all expectations. Even in the current very challenging economic and political climate we can say that the joint venture works like a well oiled machine.

What are the benefits to customers of the Ruslan International An-124 JV?

Ruslan International has a comprehensive and experienced workforce in all departments under one roof which simplifies communication,

operational coordination, customer service, and logistical support of our operations. Increased availability gives our customer base a wide range of options in terms of pricing and delivery schedules to help them overcome their logistical challenges. The bigger combined fleet means that availability is always guaranteed on the dates our clients wants to fly and sufficient contingency planning is always in place in case of any technical problems. The JV has improved our time to market, provided access to a vast fleet network, account management, commercial flexibility and streamlined our operational coordination which are all key benefits for the customer. The JV also helps Ruslan International share best practice between our teams to achieve improved service delivery – which ultimately is to the benefit of our clients.

In terms of supply and demand of An-124 capacity, is there still sufficient An-124 aircraft availability to meet the needs of customers?

Ruslan International has enough capacity to meet market demand. The current lead time for An-124 enquiries converting to flights is quite short and we are able to manage this effectively using our fleet capacity and worldwide coverage. Obviously, the longer lead times we have

If the military/defence sector is reducing its requirements for An-124 capacity, where do you see the main growth opportunities for the aircraft in other sectors?

The Aerospace sector has grown quickly over the last two years and we have every reason to believe this will continue over the next few years. With large aircraft manufacturers competing for market share for their next generation airliners it is vital that production and delivery times to customers are reduced to a minimum. The fact that the aerospace supply chain is global puts a lot of pressure on the logistics process. Any delay in producing the parts necessary for final assembly can result in a heavy fine or even the cancellation of aircraft orders. It is important for us that we continue our direct communication with aerospace product manufacturers to help them ease pressure on delivery dates if their regular supply chain solution fails. The An-124 is an ideal aircraft to get the job done if you need to buy yourself time to fix your supply chain problems and meet very strict delivery deadlines.

We also see other growth opportunities in the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors. The high price of energy these days ensures the availability of financing for new O&G projects and these are often in the world’s most remote and undeveloped areas. While traditional logistic solutions work perfectly well under normal conditions, many Oil & Gas and Energy
