BOOK Week at the Church of England Primary School, Snod- land was described as “one of the biggest and best yet”. Head teacher Holley Hunt said
the event was “a credit to the won- derful, imaginative and creative children we have in our school”. Every child embraced the Super
Hero theme throughout the learn- ing activities that took place dur- ing the week. Each class visited the book fair,
took part in a fun drama work- shop, learned and retold their favourite superhero stories. They also designed and created
their own superheroes and shared their favourite books with their friends in a school book swap. Theweek ended with a fun-filled
Super Power Picnic where the children had the opportunity to share their favourite memories from the week and take part in a Quiz for Heroes. Mrs Hunt thanked assistant
head teacher Nicola Chapman and her curriculum learning group for organising the week. She added: “Our children are so
very lucky to have such dedicated teachers who are eager to provide such wonderful learning opportu- nities.”
Care charity shop closes for business
THE Blythswood Care charity shop in Snodland High Street was due to close on April 17. The lease on the shop ends
on that date and, after review- ing its operations, the charity has decided to stop process- ing second-hand goods and concentrate on promoting its annual Shoe Box Appeal. Its depot in Strood is in the process of winding down and
