eafood Scotland’s (SFS) famous Seafood Bar is set to be the highlight of the Scottish Pavilion again at

this year’s Seafood Expo Global/ Seafood Processing Global. The bar will be offering a B2B

environment where companies can meet customers, enjoy a tasty seafood platter, and learn how the Scottish industry competes in a global market place. A team from the Federation of Chefs Scotland will be on hand to cook lunches for exhibitors and visitors to the Scottish Pavilion, and to provide a selection of sam- ples to invited buyers and guests. In 2013, the team prepared more than 12,000 samples and served up 400 lunches to Scottish companies and their guests. ‘Scottish wild and farmed seafood has a key role to play in leading sustainable economic growth in the food and drink sector and we anticipate a lot of interest from overseas buyers in the top quality seafood our chefs will be sampling this year. Exhibiting companies benefi t greatly from this feature, which draws in quite a crowd, and

all Scottish visitors are welcome to host a seafood lunch for business guests at the seafood bar,’ said Graham Young, head of SFS. The seafood bar also acts as an

information point, with experts on fi sheries and aquaculture, business development, marketing and export- ing, on hand to assist companies. SFS’s presence at the Expo will help to contribute towards the target of £7 billion in food and drink exports by 2017, by enhanc- ing Scotland’s reputation as a land of Food and Drink. Scottish salmon and seafood are expected to play a key role in this. ‘Our team looks forward to

greeting old and new business acquaintances to the Seafood Bar, assisting them to cement existing relationships, and to develop lucra- tive new ones,’ said Graham. FF
